Pink Mountaintops will release their Get Back LP on April 29th via Jagjaguwar, and today they posted a new video for the track “North Hollywood Microwaves“. Directed by by Giant Drag‘s Annie Hardy, this cut also features Hardys’ hilariously dirty freestyles, which she was invited to lay down after the Mountaintops’ Stephen McBean heard her “free jizz” band” PnP. When she found out her raps had been included in “North Hollywood Microwaves” she asked McBean if she could direct a video for the track, to which he said “yes”, sending her a video of himself dancing, which, according to Hardy, “really legitimized my video”. The result is a psychotronic mishmash of damaged visuals featuring Hardy, her cat, her microwave, her car (of course, cause it’s LA), and some blown video of McBean shakin’ a leg…or two! The video also includes a hospital trip, with Hardy explaining, “I came down with a vicious kidney infection that ended with me in the ER, which couldn’t have worked out better for the “me and Rod Stewart at the hospital” part of my freestyle.” Pink Mountaintops will play select US live dates in support of their upcoming record, starting at the end of April, before leaving for a European tour in June.
