GØGGS “Needle Trade Off”

Ty Segall teams up with longtime buddies Chris Shaw of Ex-Cult and Charles Moothart of Fuzz, and they call their magical concoction GØGGS. Don’t call the band a side project, though, as it’s a “necessity”. Shaw explains:

“Ty and I decided we were going to start a band together when Ex-Cult opened for his band on the ‘Slaughterhouse’ tour in 2013. A couple years later when the plans were solidified, it only made sense that thrash master Charles Moothart should get in on the experience. The three of us have been friends for years at this point, crashing at each others houses and riffling through each others record collections after a night of performing, partying, or both…GØGGS is three heads, one spine, circling the drain of the wasteland known as mother earth.”

The trio’s self-titled LP comes out July 1st via In the Red Records, and the band has this terse description of the album, “Three years of planning, thirty days of writing, one week of ripping, a severed finger on the button…”. Today, we take a listen to the group’s newest offering from the upcoming LP, “Needle Trade Off“. Like a flaming Hindenburg headed for outer space, this sh*ts heavy and cosmic, and looking to set fire to a set of speakers near you!

GØGGS have added a second night in Chicago at the Empty Bottle on July 20th, and you can view the rest of the band’s tour stops below…
