New kick-ass videos from our friends at Sub Pop…Band of Horses, Wolf Parade, Kelley Stoltz, The Elected!!
–Band of Horses: This band continues to impress… formed by Ben Bridwell and Mat Brooke after the break-up of the tragically lovely Carissa’s Weird. These guys continue to craft the kind of beautiful and wrenching music you can almost touch. Check out the black and white ‘noir of “The Funeral” directed by Matt Lenski.
–Wolf Parade: This bands latest album, Apologies to the Queen Mary, is full of scrappy and captivating pop songs. “Modern World” is just one more great example, and the video for the song, directed by Adam Bizanski, makes outstanding use of stop-motion animation to tell the cautionary tale of music business success.
–Kelley Stoltz: This artist crafts wonderfully cracked sunny throw back pop candy jewelry in his own home studio. His new album Below The Branches is gettin’ a lot o’ talkie-talkie so check out the super-8 stylings on “Ever Thought of Coming Back”. Directed by Sean Coleman.
–The Elected: More pretty road laments from Blake Sennett who also sings and writes for Rilo Kiley. Checkout the new album Sun, Sun Sun at your favorite, local record store, and the video for “Not Going Home” right here…where mamma loves you best!
