On The Horrors second full length, Primary Colours, we find the band graduating from their overly-hyped and mascara sloppy, goth garage into a full fledged band capable of conjuring up the haunted greatness that is British Punk and New Wave of the late 70’s and 80’s. Way to grow up boy’s. Oh yeah, this album was interestingly produced by Geoff Barrow (Portishead), Craig Silvey, and video producer/director Chris Cunningham…Speaking of big British hype, The xx have certainly gotten their fair share, with one look at their myspace page showing a host of sold out British shows and the band coming state-side soon! The bands self-titled debut reveals young artists mature beyond their years, and able to craft sexy and killer pop in a very minimal and understated fashion. Great lyrical dynamics between guitarist Romy Madley and bassist Oliver Sim with help from Jamie Smith and Baria Qureshi. Make out music for ghosts!!
