Not enough? Didn’t think so, so we’ve included some cool tunes to keep you busy. Things kick off with something from the ever interesting Brooklyn label, The Social Registry. This time the label dips into the annals of recent history to release a formerly lost and self titled album from the band Interference, an important group from the vibrant downtwon NYC music scene of the early 1980’s. The band was formed by Anne DeMarinis, an early member of Sonic Youth and co-founder of the important Noise Fest with Thurston Moore, as well as musicians David Linton and Michael Brown. The album was recorded at Radio City and slated for release on Glenn Branca’s label Neutral Records, but for whatever reason never saw the light of day. And won’t. Until December 2009. Thanks Social Registry!
To finish off the week new tunes from the psychedelic and darkly pop inclined Mr. Gnome, as well as the cough syrup trippy lo-fi hoverings of Yoga and a Mae Shi remix of Mates of State song “You Are Free”.
