LA duo, No Age, put out their Get Hurt EP on Sept. 28th, and in anticipation released a 7″ and a 12″ with the album track “Glitter”, as well as B-side material not found on the new record. Dean Spunt and Randy Randall crank out a big massive sound for just two guys, and have a great knack for creating those kinds of songs that get stuck rattling around in your head!

Chicago’s Gypsyblood will have their first album out early next year, Cold In the Guestway on Sargent House. The album was recorded last winter in an old Frank Lloyd Wright home using film equiptment, of all things. This Exrays tune comes on all Jandek like, itchy and uncomfortable as the singer mumbles about ways to stop time. Thing is, it’s hard to STOP listening to, and by the time the instrumental breaks your hooked, and in for a most kooky, cough syrup kinda ride. This track can be found on their debut Ammunition Teeth out on art label Howell’s Transmitter, and the duo has got a full-length coming out in January!

Fops are Thee More Shallows singer Dee Kesler plus Ral Partha Vogalbacher lyricist Chadwick Donald Bidwell, and they have a new album out on Monotreme Records, Yeth Yeth Yeth. Hmmm. Anyways, “Maple Mountain” sounds great. Feel like you can hear a whole lotta stuff in there, more Pavement influence, and dare I say some kinda new wave, Neil Young On the Beach thing.
