In their seven years of existence, The Morning Benders received their fair share of critical accolades, with songs also showing up in commercials, sitcoms, snowboarding movies, etc. Chris Chu began the project in 2005 while studying music at the University of California, Berkeley, soon enlisting the help of friends he met in class. The band would go on to record two studio albums, and a number of EPs, until deciding to change their name last March to POP ETC. The band’s current line-up includes Chris’ brother Jon Chu on keyboards, as well as Julian Harmon on drums, and the band’s blithe, elegant, synth-driven pop has already earned them a place on the ‘Twilight-Breaking Dawn 2’ soundtrack.
