Re-issue: Zamrock Psych-Funk band Witch get Introduction, re-introduced.

996

Witch (We Intend to Cause Havoc) was one of the most innovative bands to come out of Zambia in the 1970’s. They were part of the genre-mashing school of music known as Zamrock, which combined traditional Zambian rhythms with the experimental tendencies of funk and 60’s rock. Witch went way heavy into the psych sound by combining fuzzed-out garage rock guitars with James Brown meets Zambian groove funk. Now – Again Records recently releaed a 4 CD/6 LP box-set of the complete works of Witch. This has apparently sold incredibly well with the 6LP set already sold out. So, the good folks at Now – Again are putting out the first 4 albums, individually, in LP form. First up, is Witch’s debut entitled Introduction. This self produced album has been re-mastered from the original master tapes. Below, is the track “Introduction”, from the album Introduction.
