Plenty of news to report from Seattle’s hardest working/hard rock label, Good To Die Records! Ready to get your road trip on? How does Calgary in June sound? Loud as f**k, you can be sure! Well, pile in the car, jump on a bus, hop a freight, steal a jet, whatever it takes, and follow some of your favorite Good To Die Bands like Deadkill, Monogamy Party, Gaytheist, and Rabbits up to the Sled Island Festival in Calgary, Alberta this coming June 19th thru the 22nd. The festival will be hosted at over 30 different venues throughout the city, and will feature a killer line-up with bands like Iceage, Jesus and the Mary Chain, Explosions In the Sky, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and Thee Oh Sees also on this huge bill…Speaking of large bills, maybe your legal troubles make it difficult for you to cross the border. Then, you wont wanna miss the Good To Die bunch at the Capitol Hill Block Party July 26 thru the 28th. The label will roll out nearly their whole roster with Constant Lovers, Deadkill, Dog Shredder, Gaytheist, Monogamy Party, Rabbits, and Sandrider slated to play at this year’s fest! If you’re one of those people that likes to plan ahead, you can grab your tickets now! In a round-up of other news…Vinyl pre-orders for the new Gaytheist LP Hold Me…But Not So Tight will ship May 3rd, with limited copies on colored wax. If you haven’t sampled the album single, “MANhattan“, I would suggest you do so in short order, as the stellar track does not disappoint! 
Yes, that’s Sandrider/Akimbo frontman Jon Weisnewski on the cover of this month’s Performer Magazine, and the April issue also features a six page interview with the band, as well as photos of the trio by Seattle photographer Matt Koroulis. Sandrider is headed back to the studio this coming May, and they will once again be recording with Matt Bayles (Russian Circles, Mastodon, Botch) at Red Room Studios, in town. In other recording news, the label reports that Monogamy Party is very close to finishing a week long session with local engineer Austin Thomason, where they have been tracking 14 new songs. In addition, Deadkill is slated to hit the studio in July, also potentially recording with Matt Bayles! That means plenty more Good To Die coming soon, and soon can’t be soon enough!
