Today Cat Power released “Manhattan“, the second video from last year’s Sun LP out on Matador Records. Directed by Greg Hunt, who also shot “Cherokee,” Chan Marshall‘s other video from the recent record, the new work follows her as she cruises the New York neighborhoods by train, bus, and foot. The track for the video shines with Marshall’s innate pop sensibilities by making the most of a simple, looped piano line, a quirky mix of beats that combine drum machine and drum set for off-handed rhythms, and Cat Power’s disarming vocal charm.
You can catch Cat Power performing tomorrow night, April 5th, on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and on the following Tuesday she will premier a new song on Later With Jools Holland. Cat Power will also hit the road for dates around the world this Spring and Summer. Check them out below!
