Iceage “Morals”

Watch Iceage perform the track “Morals” off their recently released LP You’re Nothing out now on Matador Records. Shot at a recording studio in Copenhagen on January 19th of this year, the band delivers a searing take on the song. The album version of this track has a real gritty sonic bite, but here the large room gives “Morals” voluminous reverb. Featuring additional guitar work from Bo Høyer Hansen, the track’s locked-in interplay between drums and guitar create a continually building tension.

Meanwhile, engineers Michael Fischerson and Nis Bysted deliver a bright, big-stage sound on the song. Singer Elias Bender Rønnenfelt‘s vocals are placed front and center and they drip with an extra helping of venom and dread. Filmed by Kristian Emdal and Søren Rye, something about the over-sized, meticulous room, with it’s glass viewing wall, gives the whole affair an oddly menacing vibe. Or maybe, it’s just Rønnenfelt’s creepy black gloves.
