OOFG‘s anticipated debut Disco To Die will come out on Monday, April 30th, via the Danish label Fake Diamond. Jenno Bjørnkjær and Katherine Mills Rymer met in NY while Bjørnkjær was working on film music for Lars Von Trier’s Melancholia. At the time he was also playing in the band Hessismore, and involved with a solo project he called Orchestra of Jenno. However, after establishing a close relationship, Bjørnkjær and Rymer would begin working together creatively, and the Orchestra of Jenno would transform into a duo, while changing it’s name to OOFJ (prounounced O of J). The two would go on to record parts for their debut while on winter travels through Europe, recording in the Swiss Alps, Germany and Copenhagen. Eventually Rymer would return to her home in South Africa, finishing vocal parts there, while Bjørnkjær recorded music for the record with the Prague Symphony Orchestra, and built beats while traveling with The Danish Royal Theatre.
Today we have OOFJ’s new video for the track “Pinstripe Suit“. The duo’s music and art seems to deal with intense psychic states like desire, compulsion, and obsession, and this video is no exception. Directed by the band and starring Bjørnkjær and Rymer in a twisted, mysterious relationship, the video seems to explore sadistic inter-personal power arrangements and dependency, with an eye to David Lynch’s surreal, LA-based psychodramas.
