The British post-punk quartet Silver Arm is readying a debut LP for Fat Cat Records, and today the label made the super-charged track “Dead Tongues” available for a listen. Starting with a catchy, yet darkly turned punk riff and crisp time-marking snare, it’s not long before Silver Arm blows the track up with hot blasts of noise from Leon Forde‘s brutal, buzz saw of a guitar, monster drumming from Ben Brown, and Gareth Hughes surreal lyrics and riveting vocal delivery! In their own words, “Dead Tongues” is “an unhinged blast of intense psychedelic noise; a two-minute storm that will have your fists in the air while it melts your mind and rips off your face like a machine-gun toting horse.” Well, you know any time you encounter machine-gun totting horses, you’re pretty much fucked!
