Glad to hear art-punk’s elder statesmen Thurston Moore still has somethin’ important to tell the kids, and he lays it down manifesto-style on the track “Lips”. Offering epigrammatic advice to the next generation of art school dropouts, Thurston sagely intones, “…burn up/ship out/fuck up/trip out/stick up/your lip out/beat up/ya’ get up…” Just how we kids used to do it! The new video for the track was directed by Eva Prinzt over at Thurston’s Ecstatic Peace Library, and in addition to featuring Occupy Wall Street protest footage montaged with treated video of the band playing, you can also oogle Mr. Moore showing what to do with a hit of blotter!
