It’s true, repeated rejection can leave you “black and blue”, as the NYC performance artist Megha Barnabas learns in her new video for TEEN‘s track “Carolina“. It’s not easy being the Rose Lady, and folks on lunch break are a hungry lot with their city blinders on, so her offerings of a free flower go pretty much ignored. Things reach a fevered pitch when Barnabas arrives in Times Square and parks her act in front of a giant, neon American flag. Roses are laid out as she exorcises some serious demons with a dance the tourists won’t soon forget. Funny thing is, you can’t help but wonder who the bigger freak is, here, when a fully costumed Spider Man and Mickey Mouse just happen to wander past-undoubtedly on their way to one of those ubiquitous Comicon events! TEEN’s Carolina EP is out this week on Carpark Records.
