Spectrals‘ newest LP Sob Story comes out tomorrow on Slumberland. Yorkshire resident Louis Jones began the solo project in 2009, releasing several singles before recruiting his bother Will to play drums. The young gents would go on to sign with Slumberland/Witchita Recordings in 2011, releasing their debut LP Bad Penny that same year. For the up-coming LP Louis and Will have hooked up with producer/musician Chet “JR” White (Girls), after having met him while on tour together. Spectrals flew out to San Francisco to record Sob Story at White’s Decibelle studio, and the brothers were joined by guitarist Jon Anderson, pedal-steel player Tom Heyman, with even White himself contributing some bass-lines. Today we check out the video for the track “A Heartbeat Behind“, directed by Ozzie Pullin. The video was shot on a blustery day at Canvey Island, an Atlantic City-like holiday destination located in the Thames estuary and seperated from Essex by a series of creeks. Below the video, we’ve also included a Slumberland Records Soundcloud preview of Sob Story, so give it a listen!
