Listening to David Lynch‘s new single “Star Dream Girl” you might imagine that his recent development as a “blues” guitarist was born out of a midnight meeting at some lonely cross-roads outside, say, Modesto, CA. On the track, Lynch delivers a slowly smoldering version of what he calls the “modern blues”, which builds in intensity when he adds a grimy drum stomp and progressively expanding dynamics to his surreal tale of the Dream Girl. Recorded at his Asymmetrical Studio with engineer and musical collaborator Dean Hurley, David Lynch’s The Big Dream LP comes out July 15/16th on Sunday Best/Sacred Bones.
