New Track: Ensemble Economique “We Come Spinning Out Of Control”

Brian Pyle is readying a new release for his Ensemble Economique project. Look for Fever Logic to come out July 9th on Not Not Fun. You may be familiar with Pyle as the other half of the duo Starving Weirdos, where he has worked with Merrick McKinlay for over a decade exploring the wild environs of improvisational and experimental music using a wide variety of acoustic and electronic strategies. Fever Logic will be his third solo release as Ensemble Econnomique, and his second for the Not Not Fun label. “We Come Spinning Out Of Control” has an introspective, science fiction quality to it, and like other artists on the Not Not Fun label, Pyle seems to be exploring a certain nostalgia for a by-gone era of Golden Electronics. While much of his music is inspired by the vast, haunting beauty of Northern California, a cold urban atmosphere seems to be revealed in “We Come Spinning Out Of Control”, as glacial beats echo between empty buildings and swirling electric mists are kicked up by the hovering machines searching for last vestiges of life. Later Pyle adds his vocals to the mix, intoning the track’s title in an icy warning that seems to come a bit too late.
