MOCAtv‘s The Art of Punk featuring Crass is available for streaming today! MOCAtv is the on-line extension of The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and they were one of YouTube’s first and only dedicated art channels, as well as being a part of YouTube Education. The Art of Punk documentary series has been created by Bryan Ray Turcotte (Fucked Up + Photocopied, Kill Your Idols) and Bo Bushnell (The Western Empire) to explore the roots of punk, and the artists who created the iconic logos and imagery for bands like Black Flag (Raymond Pettibon), Dead Kennedys (Winston Smith), and Crass (Dave King). For Episode 2: Crass, Turcotte and Bushnell cover a lot of ground visiting the Anarchist Book Fair in San Francisco to catch up with Penny Rimbaud and Gee Vaucher, interviewing the British graphic designer Dave King, and more. Not to be missed! We’ll keep our eyes out for the Dead Kennedys episode sometime next week.
