New Video: Mood Rings “The Line”

The Atlanta five-piece Mood Rings deliver pure dream-pop perfection on their track “The Line“. The band’s debut LP VPI Harmony came out today on Mexican Summer, and it really doubles down on the promise of 2011’s awesomely titled EP Sweater Weather Forever. VPI Harmony was recorded, mixed and mastered at Gary’s Electric in NYC, and the band takes full advantage of their studio experience to create the kind of lush and emotive music that can bear multiple late night listens! Don’t believe just us, though. Ask fellow Atlanta resident, Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox, who explains, “Mood Rings rip the captions off the stairs and explode moonlight panels with alcohol and mint. This is not political music. These are not ringtones. There is no mystery man in the plasma tent. The floor tom is the new kick. Don’t forget the scale of mercury.” Well said, buddy! Mood Rings’ video for “The Line” is directed by Grant Worth, and using sumptuous, languid visuals he does a great job capturing the track’s ultra dreamy mood.
