Pure X has found the perfect star for their new “Thousand Year Old Child” video, directed by Malcolm Elijah! Folks, meet Bob Olson. Bob has followed an interesting “career” path, to say the least. While a still a teenager in the 60’s, Olson fell in serious love with Italian cinema, idolizing the famous actor Marcello Mastroianni. In 1969, he would leave for Italy in pursuit of an acting career. While not exactly “successful” by movie star standards, Bob landed several bit roles, including a scene in Fellini‘s Casanova, as well as taking up a modeling career for a few Italian designers. Olson would later marry a beautiful Italian teacher, moving back to the States to raise a family. He continued to model, but his passion for acting was left behind as he met the pressures of raising a family. Until recently, that is! Not only does Mr. Olson do an excellent job in the new Pure X video, he wants to finally make that Italian film he’s always dreamed of! You can watch his story here, and donate to the cause…Oops, well I guess I’ve taken the roundabout way to tell you about how cool Pure X’s video for “Thousand Year Old Child” is! Definitely not one to be missed, and the track is a searing, emotive exploration of what it means to “grow up”. Crawling Up the Stairs is out now on Acéphale.
