Sandra Vu, the drummer for Dum Dum Girls, has a solo project that she calls SISU. Drawing it’s name from the Finnish word for extreme perseverance, SISU finds Vu handling all the instrumentation and recording for her current EP Light Eyes, out now on Mono Prism. Vu explains, “I never sought out to be a front person, but it’s as if I had no other option to create the music I wanted. It’s difficult for me, but I welcome the challenge because it pushes me forward.” The artist is currently working on a debut LP to come out later this year on Mono Prism, but till then we have the new video for “Two Thousand Hands“, directed by Vu’s touring bassist Dave South, and shot by Jack Jeffries. SISU will play a bunch of US summer tour dates, including today in LA at Origami Records, so don’t miss ’em listed below!
