New Track: MINKS “Margot”

Seeking to cure his writers block, MINKSSonny Kilfoyle left NYC to spend time on the East End of Long Island. While exploring, he discovered an old beach estate that had been owned by the same family for years, but who were now in financial ruin and forced to sell all they owned. Purchasing an old oil painting named “Margot” from the family, Kilfoyle would go on to use the images of decline and abundance that he observed at the estate as a creative launching point for his new LP Tides End, due out August 6th on Captured Tracks. Returning to NYC, Kilfoyle hooked up with Mark Verbos, a producer/engineer with a long history in electronic and house music, and the two would record in Verbos’ studio located at the base of the Brooklyn-side of the Williamsburg Bridge. According to “reports”, Verbos fed Kilfoyle a steady diet of Seal, Simply Red, Enigma, and early Chicago house music, and the results are evident on the stylized, 80’s synth-pop throwback “Margot“…
