Dum Dum Girls’ Sandra Vu has a side project called SISU, and on September 17th she will release her debut LP Blood Tears, on Mono Prism Records. The album finds her experimenting with dark synth pop, writing and recording on her own, while learning a thing or two along the way! As Vu explains, “I sampled a glass water cup and a pen on my desk as a rhythm element. The record has these little quirks that comes with molding the songs in an unconventional way, half of it learned and the other half accidental.” Mixing elements of shoegaze, synth pop and rock, Vu comes out swinging on the debut single “Return The Favor“, with it’s decidedly 80’s influence and Vu’s seductive vocal hooks! SISU will tour the US with Dirty Beaches in September, and she also has select southern California dates this month and next…
