New Tracks: Jackson And His Computerband “Arp #1” and “Vista”

Jackson And His Computerband return to Warp Records with the new LP Glow due out September 3rd. This will be Parisian musician Jackson Fourgeaud‘s first full-length since his debut LP Smash came out to critical acclaim in 2005 via the label. In anticipation of the new work, we have the tracks “Arp #1” and “Vista” with which to get acquainted.

Fourgeaud’s polished style works together various shades of electronic music taking genres and making them his own thru an idiosyncratic approach. While “Arp #1” might have its roots in acid house or rave, Fourgeaud brings that tempo down considerably allowing us to sample more fully the flavors he patiently layers to cook in his pot. This means that the builds and breaks in the track have room to stretch their legs without taking on the manic, cartoonish qualities such elements might in the more popular iterations of rave music currently going on. “Vista” on the other hand moves from house zones into territories more akin to electro-pop, and it makes a few strange detours along the way adding female and male vocals to the mix.

Jackson’s Computerband is a custom made collection of lights and electronic instruments, and he takes it out on the road this summer for dates in Europe and Japan, so don’t miss them below!
