The new Washed Out LP Paracosm will come out August 12th on Sub Pop/Weird World, and today we have the extraordinary video for the track “Don’t Give Up“. Shot and directed by the designer and artist Kate Moross at the London Zoo last month, Moross has a brilliant eye, and thru vivid close-ups she captures life in it’s extravagant and myriad forms. By concentrating on the small details at the zoo, and with a focus on color and textures, she creates a sensual experience that is in perfect keeping with Ernest Greene‘s musical vision. “Don’t Give Up” starts out sounding a bit like a Boards of Canada track, as an ambient field-recording mixes with eddying pools of electronics, but soon the track takes off for spacey tropical environments on subtle conga rhythms and Greene’s languid and dreamy vocals…
