Yo La Tengo returns today with an excellent new animated video for the track “Ohm” off last year’s LP Fade out now on Matador Records. The video was written and directed by Donick Cary, and features animation from the Sugarshack crew. A professor asks the age-old ontological question, “What Is Yo La Tengo?” and his eager students rush to answer.
One offers a complex equation on the Unified Theory of Pop Music in which Yo La Tengo is prominently featured, while another student takes a more direct approach by climbing thru the worm-hole in “Yo,” only to emerge on the other side with a delicious sandwich containing the essence of our elusive trio! Good to see everyone earns an “A” here!!
