From the outer reaches of extreme music comes Husere Grav‘s You Are Transparent LP, out now via Crucial Blast‘s Crucial Blaze series. Husere Grav (pronounced “Huss-urr-ee Grahv”) is Todd Watson‘s Texas-based industrial noise project, and he was formerly one half of the black metal duo Homunculus. On You Are Transparent, he crafts magisterial blasts of blackened drone into ambient, long-form pieces of metallic horror. One senses that Watson seeks a music that comes from a place of deep awe, egoless, and without the desire for progression and resolution, and he achieves that across the 7 cuts on this mysterious new work. What he does so amazingly well in the creation of these compositions is to get himself out of the way of his process, and the result is that each track on the record is an extremely pure distillation of terror and dread.
