Lorelle Meets The Obsolete have already released one of the best albums of this year with their Corruptible Faces LP, out now on the Chicago label Captcha Records, and on September 23rd the duo will return with an excellent new 7″, ‘What’s Holding You‘, via the label. Lorena Quintanilla and Alberto González are originally from Guadalajara, and after spending some time in Mexico City, they currently reside in Ensenada, Baja California. The two make vivid, fully realized music that draws heavily from psych while maintaining a raw, punk edge. Some bands just know how to conjure up those dark and wild energies, and Lorelle Meets the Obsolete are definitely capable of that, and yet, the music still retains an absorbing quality that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering just what they might do next! “What’s Holding You” is a preview of things to come, as the duo will put out their third LP, Chambers, sometime in 2014. The new album was recorded by Cooper Crain of the Chicago band Cave, and mastered by Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3/Spectrum), so this promises to be a class production all around!
