Listening to King Krule‘s track “Easy Easy” it doesn’t take long to realize you are in the presence of a very unique talent. The soon to be 19 year old UK artist, whose real name is Archie Marshall, and who also performs under the monikers Zoo Kid, DJ JD Sports, and Edgar The Beatmaker, varying his style with each project, possesses the kind of voice that stops you dead in your tracks. In addition, as “Easy Easy” demonstrates, the young bloke has a real ear for lyrics, and he uses it to elevate his conversational style, filling it with emotion and extended meanings. I think they call that poetry! Kid Krule’s debut 6 Feet Beneath The Moon (True Panther Sounds) comes out on August 24th, which just happens to be Archies 19th birthday. The video for “Easy Easy” was directed by Focus Creeps, and you might recognize the duo’s up-close and personal style from their videos for Girls, Wavves, Smith Westerns, etc…
