New Video: Old Baby “Into the Earth”

466

It’s pretty incredible the musical legacy of a small city like Louisville, but it’s hard to deny the impact that bands like Squirrel Bait, Slint, Palace, and My Morning Jacket have had on the American indie rock scene. Still thriving, today we catch up with Old Baby, a quintet featuring members of Young Widows, Shipping News, Shannon Wright Band, and Slint, The group’s upcoming LP Love Hangover was recorded by Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, California Guitar Trio, Wax Fang), and it come’s out tomorrow via the Louisville label Karate Body Records. The album will feature the darkly smoldering track, “Into The Earth“, which is psychedelically-tinged rock at it’s finest, with it’s strong, primal drumming, backroads guitar, and Jonathan Glen Wood‘s whiskey-warm voice. Eye delights abound in the hypnagogic video for the track, which was shot by Old Baby members Drew Osborn and Joe Seidt, and it features some very cool abstracted and kaleidoscopic imagery sure to enhance your visual experience. The band heads out later this week for a handful of live dates in the US. Don’t miss ’em below…
