More from Melbourne this week…Bone features the drummer from Cuntz (currently touring the States and headed for the West coast), and the quartet has a debut LP, For Want of Feeling, out now on Tenzenmen. While the band might trade in a gnarly dose of bummer vibes via it’s ultra heavy minor key sound and slow glazed tempos, there’s an urgency to Jonathan Shub‘s vocals that dares the listener into a more active response than the band’s doomed-out tones might imply. This really comes out on album cuts like “Ropes“, “See the Boy“, and “Bucket“, where a psychic bloodletting seems to be occurring as the band’s tempo moves from narcotic and woozy to wake the Beast mode! Punishing and raw, Bone strips any pretense from punk to deliver a sound that might be born of suburban boredom and dead ends, however, the sonic resuults are sure to agitate and activate response! For Want of Feeling was recorded by Max Ducker at Cellar Sessions in Melbourne, Australia, and mastered by Naomune Anzai at Reel 2 Reel Mix Master. Physical copies will be hard to come by in the States, but Permanent Records in Chicago might have copies after the Cuntz instore from earlier this month!
