Auckland’s Ghost Wave have gotten quite the buzz since the release of their debut LP Ages, on Flying Nun/Captured Tracks last month, and as a result the band will be traveling to the States as a five-piece for live dates at Cultures Collide in LA and the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC! Earlier this summer the band recorded an acoustic version of “Here She Comes“, the first single from their debut. In talking about the track Ghost Wave’s Matthew L. Paul hazily recollects,
“The acoustic version we did a few months ago at our old studio space above the Flying Nun office, it kind of has traces of the original with a new melody line… it’s made up of quite basic elements which is how I like things, from memory I think we used a Korg, an unplugged twelve-string, and a few other things I can’t really remember too clear, just kind of a mix of acoustic feeling instruments. It was nice to get the song feeling a little more slow and relaxed.”
The band’s LA dates are listed below and their upcoming CMJ schedule will be announced next week, so keep your eyes out…
