The Men will release another installment from their prolific Big Indian sessions recorded in rural upstate New York in 2012. Those recordings produced the New Moon LP which came out earlier this year on Sacred Bones. As a follow-up, the band will put out their Campfire Songs EP on October 15th. The record will include 5 acoustic songs recorded around a crackling fire during some downtime from the recording of New Moon.
Two of the tracks, “I Saw Her Face” and “The Seeds” are alternate takes on New Moon cuts. “Water Babies” first appeared as the b-side to their January 2013 7″, while “Patience” and “Turn Your Color” are completely new songs that shine with a gorgeous rural ambience. The EP will also come with a 12-page photo book of black and white photographs shot by bassist and lap-steel player Kevin Faulkner during the Big Indian sessions.
The Men hit the road again in October for a string of US dates, so check ’em out below.
