New Video: Chrysalis-A Short Film By Nick Rutter, Music By Lapalux

The UK electronic artist Lapalux teams up with director Nick Rutter, providing a soundtrack for Rutter’s new short film Chrysalis. Earlier this year, Rutter directed the video for Lapalux’s lead single “Without You“, off Nostalchic (Brainfeeder), and while that haunting video featured Game of Thrones actress Natalia Tena in a bizarre, update of beauty meets beast, here, he works with an all teenage cast to tell a tale of young, unrequited love. Like the video for “Without You”, with it’s rubber, bondage suited “monster”, Rutter again uses striking, and often grotesque imagery, to convey the way intense emotions can disfigure us. Filmed in rural England as a study for a longer project, Lapalux wrote the track “Gold” specifically for the film, and it features vocals from Jassy Grez. Lapalux kicked off a US tour last week at the Hopscotch Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina, and he will tour the States thru the month, and into October, so don’t miss the dates below…
