When Jim Jarmusch isn’t busy directing films like his upcoming vampire flick Only Lovers Left Alive, you can find him rocking out with his band SQÃœRL. The trio includes Carter Logan and Shane Stoneback, and they originally operated under the name Bad Rabbit while recording a soundtrack for Jarmusch’s 2009 film The Limits of Control.
Subsequently renamed as SQÃœRL, they are currently in the process of releasing a trilogy of EPs containing music recorded over the past three years by Stoneback at Treefort Recording in Brooklyn, NY. Look for EP#2 to come out November 5th via ATP Recordings, with the release being limited to a 1000 copies on 12″ picture disc vinyl! Today, we have the Nick Zinner remix of EP#1‘s track “Pink Dust.” Melting down the song’s smoked-out ambiance into a slow motion head banger, he also gives it two feet to dance on!
