The Seattle trio Dreamsalon features long-tenured members of the cities underground punk scene, with Min Yee (The Intelligence, A-Frames, AFCGT) on bass, Craig Chambers (Lights, Tan Lines, Pyramids) on guitar/vocals, and Matthew Ford (The Intelligence, Factums, Pyramids) on drums/vocals. The band is currently readying their debut LP 13 Nights for a November 12th release on the Chicago label Captcha Records. The gents recorded the new album in July of 2012 with Alex Yusimov at The Pool in Portland, and it was subsequently mixed by Matt Stegner at Adobe, and mastered by Timothy Stollenwerk at Stereophonic Mastering. “In the Air” looks to be the first single off the upcoming LP, and it comes ripping outta the gate with a blood curdling series of reverberating “whoop”‘s, before setting itself on a course staggering forward, with Yee’s bass line providing the only steadying influence. As these three savages circle, things seem to hang together only by a thread, as the threat or promise of total collapse sharpens it’s fangs in the shadows. By the song’s half way point the track jump the rails, as Chambers bangs out shards of demented guitar, while delivering his crazed vocals like a guy that just got whacked over the head.
