The UK quartet Cheatahs double-A-side single Cut The Grass/Kenworth is out now on Wichita Recordings, and today the band released a new video for the latter track. “Kenworth” is shot in stark black and white and seems to depict a hesher’s search for some sort of foul/intoxicating liquid, and this time the “road of excess” doesn’t quite lead to the “palace of wisdom”! No worries, though, as this killer cut will surely have you shakin’ the fuzz from ears as it brings to mind 90’s favorites like My Bloody Valentine, Swervedriver, and Dinosaur Jr. While many bands over the years have attempted juggling such seminal influences, Cheatahs stand out from the fog with a sharper sense for emotive melody, especially evident in the band’s choralled vocals and monster hooks. Cheatahs play the SWN Festival in the UK tomorrow, as well as a a host of European dates beginning in November, so check ’em out below.
