Stunning CGI visuals for Dream Koala‘s track “Odyssey“, created by the visual artists Adrien Peze and Albin Merle…Dream Koala is the 19 year old DJ and guitarist Yndi Ferreira, born to Brazilian parents but raised in Paris, France, and his excellent debut EP Odyssey is out now on Splendid Music. Ferreira combines acoustic instrumentation with electronic, using a lush and spacious production style, while possessing the kind of aching falsetto that stops you dead in your tracks. In talking about the title track with Vogue magazine, Ferreira explained, “I wrote this song when I woke up from a dream where I was dying in a plane crash. It’s about the fear of not reaching your goals, the fear to die without realizing your dreams.” Peze and Merle’s video treatment for the track was inspired by Terrence Malick’s Tree of Life, as well as the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Moebius, and using fantastically conceived CGI imagery, they put you right inside Ferreira’s apocalyptic dream!
