Happy Jawbone Family Band released their self-titled LP on Mexican Summer today, and to celebrate they posted a new video for their track “Mr. Clean“, directed by Zach Phillips. Phillips also runs the OSR Tapes label, as well as making music under the moniker Blanche Blanche Blanche, and his video features a smattering of refried media often accompanied by a “crawl” that reads, “The above removed at the request of the artist”. A visit to the director’s OSR label site, and we learn that the production arm of the team is happy to take on video projects for cheap, boasting a lo-tech, computer free/computer barely signal chain, and VHS artifacts! These wake and baked visuals are the perfect accompaniment, then, as “Mr. Clean” sure shambles along in a sloppy jalopy. The Happy Jawbone Family Band plays at the Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn tomorrow night as part of the CMJ Music Marathon, as well as embarking on a short tour thru the Northeast in November.
