Atlanta’s CGI Records continues to turn out excellent split 12″‘s from underground producers mining the rich territories between techno, UK Garage, and house, and their upcoming collab between Cc and Golden Donna, due out November 19th on vinyl, in an edition of 500, is definitely no exception! Today, we take a listen and look at one of Cc’s contributions to the EP, the track “Calvino Italo“. Intricately fractured and tightly wound around nimble foot-worked rhythms, this cyborg friendly cut is sure to have the ‘droids all bionic on the dance floor! Cc earned his stripes DJing around Chicago, as well as a stint as a resident DJ for No Pain In Pop, in London, and he can currently be found at Atlanta’s HUNGER club night, as well as Savannah’s Cape Fear. Cc has a previous, digital-only release, his 2012 Up Wind EP on JASS, and is currently readying a 12″ for the label Proper Trax. The visuals here are provided by the artist James Murray, and he makes very interesting use of sigil-like logo designs, which he super-imposes over gritty, street-shot stills.
