New Video: Factory Floor “Turn It Up”

1933

The UK trio Factory Floor have a new video for “Turn It Up“, the lead track on their self-titled debut LP out now on DFA. The band recorded the September release at their North London warehouse space using a vintage soundboard that had been owned previously by the Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart. On “Turn It Up”, they use it to forge a minimal techno that is both hard-hitting and playful, juggling a punishing palette of unrelenting beats, neon colored flourishes, and skewed, down-tuned vocals that ask “Where is a good place to start?” The video follows suit with beat triggered swaths of garish color that rapidly pulse with the track’s driving rhythms. Look for remixes of “Turn It Up” by Carl Craig and Laurel Halo to come out December 9th via DFA, and Factory Floor has upcoming UK and US live dates, so check them out below.
