Wooden Shjips return today with their fourth LP Back To Land, out now on Thrill Jockey, and today the band released a video for the title track. Directed by Benjael Halfmaderholz of Germany’s Hylas Film Collective, the video follows a dubious, vapor toking private investigator as he searches for some shady punchinello in a strange, Bavarian clown town. Cruising around in his vanilla white diesel Mercedes, our investigator discovers that beneath Wieselhausen’s waggish demeanor lies something more nefarious. Plenty of silliness and constant dope smoking ensues! Wooden Shjips have embarked on a massive US and European tour that will see them traveling into March of next year, with small breaks between dates.
