The UK quartet Silver Arm have a sick new track and video for “Steady Like A Vein“, and it will receive a digital release on November 25th via The Shipping Forecast! The band formed in 2012, and since that time they’ve released only three songs, but listening to “Steady Like A Vein”, you can hear that this is a band dedicated to craft, with a serious attention to sonic detail. The new cut was recorded by Rory Attwell (Palma Violets, Male Bonding, Paws) at Lightship95 in London, and it brings together the taut dynamics of British post-punk, with the urgency of early 80’s American hardcore. A dire and dark energy throbs thru “Steady Like A Vein”, while Gareth Hughes strident vocals are set-off on a raw nerve. Silver Arm also finds Ben Brown on drums, Tom Answer on bass, and Leon Forde on guitar, and they have recently signed to Big Tea Records, with a 10-inch vinyl EP planned for early 2014! The video for “Steady Like A Vein” uses gritty and flashing images of the band, especially Hughes’ maniacal vocal delivery, with what appears to be an old First Aid film that includes some awesome animated sequences depicting the circulatory system!
