Today we received sad news that the Belgian hardcore musician Florent Pevee passed away on November 29th at the age of 22, after being run over by a bus in the early morning hours that Friday. Pevee was the singer/guitarist for Kabul Golf Club, as well as playing bass for the Rott Childs, and he came to our attention earlier this year when KGC sent on their stellar EP le bal du rat mort! At the time, the band cited their influences as Shellac, Jesus Lizard, and The Blood Brothers, and their 5-song EP did not disappoint with it’s “brutal, inventive noise rock”, “stellar, uncluttered production”, and “outstanding musicianship” delivering an “uncompromising sound in constant, blood curdling attack mode!” In memory of the passing of their friend, Kabul Golf Club would like to send a free copy of le bal du rat mort to anyone who would like one, which is a touching gesture and a fit tribute to the young musician.
