Seattle hard rock trio Helms Alee will release their Sleepwalking Sailors LP on February 11th via Sargent House, and today we take a listen to the second single off the album, “Pleasure Center“. It must be something in our organic coffee and hemp milk that continues to make the Emerald City a top producer of Grunge, and, as folks in town know, while others are beginning to find out, Helms Alee is some of the finest around! Featuring bassist/vocalist Dana James, drummer/vocalist Hozoji Matheson-Margullis, and guitarist/vocalist Ben Verellen, the trio utilizes elements of hard rock, metal and punk, fusing punishing low-end with massively riffed, down-turned melody to craft a sound reminiscent of Grunge glory days, while moving the sound forward with their active, creative energies! On “Pleasure Center”, the trio lays a massive, burning spliff on the alter of the Metal Lords, and it sends up smoke signals of bass so thick and heavy, you have to cut it with an ax! Look for Helms Alee to hit the road with Russian Circles this coming March for a brief US tour. You can check out the dates below…
