New Video: Ice Cream Mission To Mars “Planet Flipside”

Today we take a trip past the dark side of the moon to the “lost side of Mars”, with analogue synth enthusiast Will MacLean. The artist returns this week with a new video for the track “Planet Flipside“, from his solo project Ice Cream Mission to Mars‘ self-titled debut LP, out now on Toy Moon Records. MacLean informs us, “Planet Flipside is about the lost side of Mars. Like all the abandoned hotels and restaurants and businesses along Route 66, who were thriving before the interstates were built, Mars has that side too – burnt out neon signs and dustbowl craters.” Well, as a seasoned traveler of the Red Planet’s forgotten by-ways, Mr. MacLean should know, and here he returns with some interesting graphic evidence, using images of neon words like “OCEANIC”, “SOUND”, or images of the ubiquitous “Psychic Eye” to cast new shadows across “Planet Flipside”. Ice Cream Mission to Mars was one of our 25 Favorite Albums of 2013, so I highly recommend checking it out in it’s entirety via the link, but Will has also just made “Planet Flipside” available for FREE download via his Souncloud page!
