The Bristol, UK duo Malachai will release their Beyond Ugly LP via Double Six on March 31st, and today the band delivered an outstanding new video for the track “I Deserve To No“. Featuring a thrilling graphic sense, the video collages various media including expressionistic, painterly panels of splashed and dripped colors, several animation styles like stop-motion and hand drawn, as well as heavily treated video imagery, all to tell the tale of the People, and their right to Know/No. Sonically, on “I Deserve To No”, Gee Ealey and Scott Hendy demonstrate a style deeply rooted in hip-hop, with Ealey’s grimy, call-to-arms vocal delivery complimented by Bollywood inflected sample-delics and paranoia inducing data-overload!
