While previous work like 2013’s Proper Tracks‘ 12″ Terse provided ultra-tight iterations of muscular techno, Falk’s new record finds the artist introducing more house elements into the mix, making for irresistible, footwork friendly dance numbers like “Foam Party“. While this track still possesses a tireless 4-to-the-floor bass beat, Falk brings in sleek and slinky rhythmic flourishes, sure to entice even the most dance shy out into the mix, as percolating watery synth stabs go sub-acquatic in a wash of bubbles and foam! Also on the house side of the spectrum is “BBR“, with it’s mellow disco shimmer, as well as the warped after party glow of “Miley’s Plateau“, while the record’s opener, “GF“, maintains a more obdurate techno veneer via an unrelenting hyper-bass beat and vocal sample on endless repeat!
