Protomartyr posted their second single today off the upcoming April 8th release Under Color of Official Right due out via Hardly Art. “Come & See” sends warped and rusty chords into the smoggy air as bass and drums lock arms for an off-kilter rollick, before singer Joe Casey inquires, “Have you heard the bad news…” With terse, poetic insights, Casey trades wiseacre barbs like, “Come as friends/Are you ready to be capitalized…”, before arriving at the bittersweet refrain, “And I’ll try to live defeated/Come and see the good in everything.” By the time band reaches its exuberant close, the track has struck a hopeful, if not slightly lowered ceiling kind of resolve.
